The last time I posted I was getting ready for my big Christmas Goose sale, which by the way went very well for me this year. I wasn't going to do it again, but once again I am preparing for what to make next year!

I had a very busy few weeks after the sale....buying gifts, wrapping. As usual, I didn't think I would get it all done...but I did..YEAH! We were at our daughter's home for Christmas Eve. On Christmas we went to church then came home and prepared dinner for the afternoon when Rhonda, Brian and the girls came, opened gifts then ate our meal.

The day after Christmas Will and I took off for a quick trip to Coos Bay to see our grandson, Shane, before he left for Missouri to Whitman AFB where he will be stationed. It was good to see him! We were there on Sunday to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary..then came home on Monday. Like I said, it was a short trip!

Yesterday was New Year's Eve so had Brian, Rhonda and the girls over for pizza and snacks...and some fun card games...and Apples to Apples. Saw the new year in...then today was a quiet day. Have done nothing eventful. Just trying to go through some of my "junk" which I have plenty of and often find hard to part with! I guess I have to much of my Mother in me. I always think..someday I may need that!!! And nine times out of ten I do...someday!! Of course, there are lots of things I have but don't know where they are!!! LOL

Will is now officially retired (from his temporary job with PG&E) so now have to adapt to him being home every day. I did enjoy my alone time during the day but there are pluses to it too. He can take the girls to school...run errands for me, etc. It will all work out I am sure.

All in all....we are have been very blessed this past year. Brian had his scan and all came out clear! He doesn't have to have another one for 6 months. We are in good health so can't complain. I pray this next year will be a good one for all of us. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I have taken a few pics of my home decorated for Christmas.

Time to relax!

Wow...been a long time since I posted! The last time I was making some progress on my Christmas Goose items. I ended up making over 250 items and did quite well in the end. We pick up our checks in a couple weeks so will know exact amount then. Needless to say, I am SOOOOO glad its over! It is really hard on the body but not so bad when you look back! We have to be there early on Fri morning...decorate and then set out our items...then rush home and "try" to look good (lol) and festive...back down for the show that began at 5:00 p.m. until 9. Then back by 8:30 for the show to begin at 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Then its tear down, itimize our items left over and clean up...then we are done!! Thats a rundown on the show. I stress so much before hand that when its over I really don't want to sew but need to so badly! I did manage to get a few items of my leftovers on ebay and my WSOAPP shop.

It is hard to get pics of all I made...I had them scattered so many places in the house. It took about 6 containers (lg) to load it all up...but did it and now just have to deal with the leftovers...sell or save for next year! I have an order for a santa but otherwise need to just get busy on my santas for ebay!

Today I had a dentist appt in Roseville which was more lengthy than the usual cleaning as I had full mouth x-rays. Afterwards I ventured over to the Antique Trove...my favorite thing to do after I go to the dentist. Vendors were setting out Christmas stuff....so much there! Of course, much of it is pricy but did find some little things for santa bags. It is just fun to go down the isles..which I think there must be around 8 long ones and many booths. Made a quick trip to the mall then headed home...which took forever! Traffic was awful...so much construction. Tomorrow a storm is supposed to come in so will be nice to just take the day to do some cleaning, maybe cut out a santa and listen to my christmas music! Yes...I have been this week since they Sirius/XM are now playing it on a couple of their channels. I know its early but sometimes I would just rather listen to that vs the stuff on the other stations and tv..some is so depressing!!

Next week is Thanksgiving already..hard to believe!! I am cooking dinner this year so have to head to town on Sat to pick up the ingredients, ham, etc. We are tentatively planning a weekend trip to Grass Valley/Nevada City for my husband's birthday and just to shop!! Our daughter Rhonda and family will go too...so should be fun!!

Guess thats about all for now. Hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Making progress..slowly!

It has been awhile since I last checked in....so thought I had better update!! I have been frantically working on my Christmas Goose stuff!! Time is flying and I only have about 5 more weeks till the show. It is a two day sale so need lots of stuff. I have about 125 items made and like to have 200 or more. It is my fault too...since I have all year and put it off till it is July..then Aug..Sept and now October and crunch time!! I don't know why, but it seems I do this every year...so needless to say I will be buried in my sewing room for the next 5 weeks..and sewing non stop!! For those who have seen my sewing room....I could easily get buried in here...well out of sight!! LOL!! It is my favorite place in the whole house though since I have all the necessities other than a coffee pot in here!!

I did manage to get a couple dolls on ebay the last couple weeks. I have one on now, which I have named Endora. She is made from my favorite pattern maker...Veena's Mercantile. I just love her patterns and they are so easy!!

This past week I had a wonderful package in the mail! My daughter Deb, sent me her digital camera since she got a new one. I LOVE this little camera...so small and easy to use. I do think it takes better pictures too for ebay...thanks Deb! I will send you a check this coming week!!!

Last Wednesday Rhonda and Brian left for a week trip to Indiana....so I had the two girls for a week. They are easy to have around. Lexi is doing cheerleading this year so did have some running to do for that but it all went well. On Monday Lexi left for a week at camp so just had Ashlyn Monday thru Wed. Rhonda and Brian returned home last night so had the day to bury myself in my room! Tomorrow will be the same..then need to get some shopping done on Sat.

Last Saturday I had to go to Lexi's game and it was 103 degrees!!! It has cooled down so much this week...finally feels like fall. I hope now the heat is a thing of the past!!

Hopefully I can update in a few days and show more of the things I am working on. I also hope to get another thing or two on ebay!! Till next time!

Almost Monday!

How quickly these weeks seem to be going by! I have a huge sale in November and the weeks are just flying by with time running out! I didn't really apply myself until about a month ago so now I pay the price...sewing all the time! Oh well...thats how my life is. Put things off then work my butt off getting caught up!

Saturday we went to watch Alexis do her cheerleading....can't believe how she has changed! I never thought I would see the day she would get in front of people, let alone cheerleading!! She is so pretty too and the tallest in her group. We are so proud of her!

I had to laugh at her sister, Ashlyn. I asked her if she would want to do cheerleading someday and she said...maybe, but probably not! I wanted to be an artist but I think I just want to help animals! She loves them and someday should go into that field. Of course she is a great artist too!

It was such a nice day compared to the game I went to a couple weeks earlier. It was 106 degrees in Redding and the poor cheerleaders just about croaked from the heat. Brian brought the umbrella so we stayed fairly comfortable...but just plain nasty!

After we came home from church....we heard a knock on the door. Rhonda was there and asked me to come out to her car. She bought me this beautiful mum!! It is so pretty, and in a few days it will be georgous!!! That was so sweet and thoughtful of her! While I was taking pics I thought I would take one of my impatiens in the front yard. They aren't as pretty as other years but have filled in so quite colorful.

Last week I received a wonderful box full of goodies! I can hardly believe it has been so long since I last wrote. This past week was the best of all...news that our son-in-law, Brian, has a clean bill of health from his cancer! For those who have followed the blogs which have mentioned him, he has gone through some very rigirous treatment since the first of the year. Last week he went to his dr in San Francisco and they said all was clear! We are all so thankful and can only praise God for this wonderful news.

Yesterday after going to church and seeing a play in Sacramento at the B St Theatre, the family got together at the local mexican restaurant to have a small celebration of the Great news!

Today was our granddaughter, Ashlyn's, birthday. We went to the local pizza place for their great buffet. Of course, I ate waaaay toooo much!!! Guess Weight Watchers will have to wait this week. I am sure I gained a few # between mexican and pizza!!! Anyway...after the pizza we went to Rhonda & Brians for ice cream cake and then played Apples to Apples..then a game of Pinocle. Was a fun day and the girls love playing games!

I did manage to get this little witch in my WSOAPP shop but most of my time is taken up sewing for the big sale in the fall...the Christmas Goose. I try to get a couple hundred items made and think I have only about 100 made so far...so as you can see have lots to do!

Will try to do an update on things around here. Brian goes in for a recheck (scan) every few months. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. They certainly were answered!!

Get the Maukie - the virtual cat widget and many other great free widgets at Widgetbox!

Indiana Trip!!

We left for Indiana two weeks ago tomorrow. We had a 3 bedroom two bath house. We did have a few issues with a few things when we arrived but it ended up working out great. Due to some miscommunication, the cleaning from the previous renters had not been done....but with 4 of us working together we had it cleaned up in no time and opened our first bottles of wine!! Jo got on the phone right away and was told we will get a return on our cleaning deposit since we had to do the work...so all was good with that little glich. I forgot to mention though....we got lost on the way so went a "few" miles out of our way. Poor Deb was quite stressed by the time we got there...plus she isn't used to our 100+ weather so that wasn't good. Sorry you had to do all the driving Deb....do you forgive us???

We did manage to get a picure of the four of us before we took off shopping! We found some neat shops but some were closed...figures!! Another thing that was hard on Deb....we stopped at a Harley Davidson store. Jo found what she wanted for her hubby...then as we were leaving the store Deb gets a call from her son Shane, who is in boot camp in the Air Force. Now he can't call back and she can't call him...and she hits the end button on her phone and missed his call. I felt so bad for her...but she managed to get over it as best she could and we went on with our shopping and had a nice day.

We were pretty packed on the way up...with a box between us in the back seat and the back stuffed.....but for some reason we had less room returning home! I think Deb and Jo are contemplating how they will get everything in! Of course...Rhonda found a beautiful mirror which had to about 5' long..which had to go between us in the back seat! We made it though, just part of shopping...right!! Needless to say...Deb says if we do another trip she is NOT going to be the driver! Guess I can't blame her!

On the way home we stopped at the Outlets in Folsom and bought some more things! We ate at a sandwich shop then arrived home that evening. The next day we all celebrated Lexi's birthday early by going to pizza then to Rhonda & Brians for cake. The next morning Deb took off for "cool" Oregon and Jo headed to Sacramento for her class reunion, then flew home on Sunday. We crammed alot in the days we had together...and had a great time together. We didn't discuss our next trip...if there is one???? What do you say girls??

Update...finally!!!

The last time I posted our son-in-law, Brian, was going through another round of cancer treatment. He has since completed another round and now gets a rest for 6 weeks or so before he is tested again. This one was hard on him so he needs the time to recover. Prayers are always very much appreciated.

After 30 some years with the same garage door....we finally purchased a new one. It is soooo nice...and quiet. It probably doesn't seem like a big deal but to me it is! Since the old one has had the spring break on several occasions, and who knows where that could fly!!! I just didn't feel safe with it any longer.

Hubby just got a new (used) toy! He has been wanting a newer pickup to haul around his antique tractor(s)! He came upon this one which is 10 years old but only has 38,000 miles on it and is just like new inside. I have had to drive it a couple times and not bad! The only thing I don't care for is the long bed plus the extended cab. But...it is what he wanted and does look much better than the old 1964 pickup we have had in the driveway for YEARS!! Now...he has to get rid of that one. We have had it so long it is like part of the family....but there are only two of us and we own 5 vehicles!!! So....now to find someone who wants an old truck!!

My two daughters are coming this weekend and my house is a fright!!! I will be spending tomorrow doing all the stuff I let go...and as it is it will be just the surface. Oh well...its just my girls...they will understand....right??? LOL I did manage to update my shop with a couple halloween dolls. It seems early for fall/halloween but I see alot out there so guess that is what people are listing. The girls and I have a house rented for a couple of days for a "girls getaway"!! I think with all that has gone on in our family....it will be a great time to just get our minds off things. I also dug out TONS of old pictures last night and hopefully we have a chance to go through some of them. I want to give some to the kids so they can enjoy them. As it is....they just sit in a box in the corner of my closet. So...if all goes well...maybe we can have some fun going through them. Should have some good pictures of our getaway...and hopefully won't be so long before I post next time!!!

Another round!

Gosh...time is just flying by! Last week I had the granddaughters here with me during the day while Brian had another round of cancer treatments in San Francisco. This was a really hard one for him..some nasty reactions. The good part is....they are working!! He will have a couple weeks home then back again. The good thing is...he gets to go to Rhonda's class reunion but the bad thing is....he has treatment on his birthday. I can't imagine going through all he has gone through, but he has never complained and has such a positive outlook. He is an inspiration to all of us!

The girls kept busy last week working on puzzles. They put two 500 piece ones together and a 300 piece one. Lexi finished reading Twilight and of course they got in their computer time! They are both growing up so fast....and fun to have around (until they fight..LOL!!)

Of course I have to share a picture of the three little kittens!! They too are growing up so fast and now starting to make me not happy! They love to chase each other...climb, etc and find my flowers quite appealing to play in!! Now I know why I never wanted kittens..but they are cute! Not sure what I will do with them soon but don't want more kittens down the road!! Still no takers!! I do have a very good plan though but not sure if it will work! Deb is coming down in July and I KNOW she LOVES cats so maybe she will feel sorry for them and me...and take one or two home with her...just a thought Deb!! For some reason the love to sleep together in this pot...thought it was cute of them.

Well...tomorrow I plan to seriously get back to my sewing. I have things started for the Christmas Goose..along with a naked doll which I am contemplating making it into an Uncle Sam. If not...maybe he will be a santa for the Goose...not sure. At any rate time is wasting and I need to get busy as the summer will be over before I know it.

This week our grandson Shane turns 20 and then in another week leaves for boot camp in the Air Force. I know it will be a hard week for our daughter Deb (Dollgivers Attic)..but also know she is very proud of him....as we all are!! If you follow her blog you will find some pictures of the party she had for him yesterday.

Has it really been that long!!!!

OMG...I can't believe it has been so long since I posted! Deb has been telling me to update....but never realized it was my birthday when I last put something on! Can I blame it on age???!!!

We just got back from a wonderful visit with to Oregon to see our daughter, Deb and family. Our grandson, Shane, will be leaving for the Air Force in a few weeks so wanted to see him before he goes off to bootcamp. Seems it wasn't that long ago when he was climbing into my kitchen drawers, putting rocks in the lawn mower, the kitten in with the rabbit, cookies in the fish bowl...and more! Now look at him..grown up and so handsome!!

This was taken at Silver Falls. We had a nice day, climbing up to the falls and just enjoying the nice weather. No rain and just right temps! Laresa and Seth came along too which was nice.

On Memorial Day Deb and Steve took us for a nice drive to the ocean and Shore Acres, which is a beautiful park where they were married. Once again the weather was so nice and clear. I do love the rain but it was nice to go for a drive with no rain or clouds.

Deb and I did some antique shopping on Tuesday. We had to take hubby along but he behaved pretty well...so we put up with him for a few shops....then took him home and ventured on to a few more shops. We didn't find anything major but had a nice time. Deb did find some nice old blankets for her wonderful santas.

We left on Wednesday for California. It is a long trip, but broke it up with a trip to Costco before going over the border...no taxes!!

We found our kittens had really grown and changed in the few days we were gone! They went from being in the corner with mommy cat to running all over. They are cute but tell me.....what am I going to do with them!!??? Not sure I can find homes for all three...although I think we may keep the siamese..not sure yet. I think it all depends on how much trouble they get into!!!

Deb gave me a wonderful planter for a hanging plant. Yesterday I found this beautiful hanging plant and love how it looks!! Now the hard part....keeping it looking this way with the heat...and the bugs from eating the flowers!!

Where does the time go!!

It is hard to believe I was posting about my birthday...and somehow it is after Mother's Day so figure I had better post a few things here! By the way, I had a wonderful Mother's Day. Started off going to church. Afterwards we, along with daughter and familly, went to our favorite restaurant..Original Petes!! I had their wonderful veggie sandwich...to die for! In the afternoon we went to our daughter and son-in-laws for dessert and several games of pinochle. The granddaughters play too so we played call for a partner...fun!! Of course, I received gifts!! The kids all went together and gave me a basket full of goodies, lotions, candles, body sprays, etc. A gift card for a manicure and a gift card for a plant. Hubby gave me money and dinner out...so can't complain!!! Oh...and can't forget the orchid corsage he bought me for church.

The girls also made Rhonda and I this huge drawing...Happy Mother's Day! So sweet!

Yesterday I had the girls after school so they took pictures of the busy hummingbirds!! We have one feeder in front and three in back, which I have to fill up approximately every other day! We had around a dozen flying around yesterday when this was taken. I buy sugar by the 25lbs!!

We also took some pictures of the kittens, which are growing so quickly! I am still trying to get my kids to take one!! If they only lived closer!!! I know I could get Deb to take one since she has such a soft heart for cats!! Of course, I am sure Linda would take one or two if she lived closer!

I also took some pictures of my clematis while it is so pretty....and the peony bush. Typically we get a high wind about this time of year and it manages to do a number on my clematis. Often the same happens with my peony, but so far so good this year! I still have half flats of impatiens, dianthus and begonias to plant so need to get out there before it gets too late. I couldn't turn her down...so this morning I drug myself out of bed and prepared for a possibly rainy...cool day at the Buttes. As it turned out, it was a gorgous day and no rain! It rained yesterday and has been on the cool, wet side so everything was nice and green...and no dust! The place they went is on a ranch owned by one of the local farmers...a wonderful place for kids....along with an old town, ponds, hiking, etc!! Brian, Ashlyn's dad, was one if the leaders who helped with putting on the worms and taking the fish off the hooks, since the fish were thrown back into the lake after they were caught. The fish were plentiful so each child had a chance to get their share.

It ended up in being a great day! The siamese had three kittens...cute for now but not sure what we are going to do with them once they start running around....smashing down my flowers etc. But.....as you can tell...momma is quite happy with her little family! She purrs all the time and is very attentive to her little babies. Oh well...for now they are staying in one place, so will cross the next bridge when we get there!! I have offered them to my kids, but to date no takers!!

Well....yesterday was another birthday for me..UGH!! I did get a beautiful necklace from my husband! I saw this one and gave him a strong hint..and was happy when I opened the box and there it was!! I also got some really nice things from my kids...two Christopher & Banks gift cards...shopping ahead!! Also, jammies, diffusers, earrings, a money counting jar, cd, and a beautiful bracelet. I probably missed some things, but I did have a really nice day!

Rhonda makes wonderful cakes, as everyone in the family knows, but this time she bought me an ice cream cake and was it every yummy!! I took some home so after my weight watchers meeting on Wednesday..I plan to eat a nice slice!! YUM Yes....you heard it, I re-joined Weight Watchers again!! I didn't think I would do it again and pay....but after 11 lbs I figure I need to support to get those nasty pounds off again. Hopefully I don't have to pay for long...wish me luck...I need it!!

I have been having computer problems...and not happy about it. I downloaded the Explorer 8 and have had nothing but fits with it. It slowed my computer down and apparently wasn't compatable with my Norton or whatever, so finally after error messages, etc I took it off. I do think things are working better now..but not real good! Will bought me a cordless mouse for my laptop yesterday, so when I get really frustrated I turn that one on...so at least have a backup!

I need to get my shoppe updated this week...and at this point have nothing really made. I have been so bad lately with my sewing....I need some real motivation here! I was thinking tomorrow, but I think I have to go on a field trip with my granddaughter so maybe tomorrow night...will see. It is supposed to rain so may come home soaked!

Alot has happened!

Guess it is time for me to update here! The first couple days were in the high 60's to low 70's...then it got much colder and even went to bed one night with the snow falling...it snowed all night and some the next morning! I figured that was a gift to me since wherever I go....it NEVER snows! For the most part it doesn't even storm (since I love storms and of course snow)! Living in the Sacramento valley in northern California...snow only arrives "maybe" once every 10 years! This picture was taken along a country road out of Billings. Not much snow I know, but to me it was beautiful!!

Along the way, Will took a picture of the new addition to the cemetary where his father and brother are buried....the Veteran's Cemetary....very nice with the flags, etc.

Now that we are home....we are having a heat wave!! UGH!! It has been in the 90's the past couple days. I think it got up to around 95 or more today. Just dreading what lies ahead in a month or so. At least it is supposed to cool down by the end of the week! All in all, we had a nice time in Montana, played some fun pinochle games and had a nice Easter dinner, but always good to get back home.

While we were gone our son-in-law, Brian, was in the hospital in San Francisco for his last round of treatments for kidney cancer. This was the hardest one for him I think. He was about ready to put up the white flag, but he did manage to get in 5 treatments and is back home now. He will be tested again and if there is anything there he may go in for another round of treatments. Of course, our prayers are for a clean bill of health. As always, prayers are still needed and so much appreciated!

Things are slow on ebay but I do need to be sewing again....so tomorrow that is on my list! I have an order for a large rabbit and then should get busy on my Christmas Goose items. It is just so hard to make Christmas in April...especially with the 90+ weather outside! But...I will be much happier in the fall if I get on this now!!! So....wish me luck with the motivation!!

Shoppe Updated!

I am finally done with Easter! Meaning, sewing! I did pretty well with my sales on ebay, although didn't get the prices I would have a year ago. I decided to put the one in my shoppe and made up a couple other things for the month. I made this ornie from a Kindred Spirits pattern I have had for years...decided to make one up and here it is! I had this huge stash of old wool given

to me some years back and it came in soooo handy when it came to looking for colors to make this ornie.

The other two rabbits in my shop are made from wonderful Kentucky Primitive patterns. They are both on the small side and so cute in person. Wish I had more time to make some others up but time flies...and it will soon be time to make Americana....or start on my sewing for my big sale in the fall...the Christmas Goose.

Sunday we had a very nice day. After church we went to a play in Sacramento with three other couples. We saw "Sexy Laundry"! The reviews on it mentioned..for adults only so we are all thinking we are going to see something on the nude side or quite racy!! Funny since we had to go on a day other than our scheduled date each couple were sat in a different part of the theatre (which is in the round). Of course we are wondering who is going to get the best veiw, especially the men in the group since it is usually the woman that disrobes when it does happen. Well..none ot that but some suggestive language...but sooooo funny! I think it was one of the best we have seen. Afterwards we went to the Olive Garden..which was yummy, but Will didn't find it to agree with him. He swallowed something that he said was super hot and bothered him that night and the next day...so guess no more Olive Garden for him! LOL Anyway, it was a great day!

We are off to Montana for Easter. This will be a change in weather for us since it has been in the 70's and 80's here and they have been having snow!!! I am trying to figure out what to take that will still fit the season! Will write later to let you know how it all went. Hoping everyone has a Blessed Easter.

As you can see..Spring is here!!

As you can see from this beautiful weeping cherry tree...it is spring here in northern California! It was given to us when my mom passed away and is a wonderful memory of her every year it blooms! For those who live in the areas of the country still snowed in....we have leaves on our trees already!

I did manage to get another rabbit listed this week on ebay. I sold one today but not for nearly what I got last year. With the economy in the tank...I just feel lucky if I manage to sell my dolls at all! This one has no bids yet but there are a couple days left so will see!! She may end up in my shop for the next week! Not sure where I will go from here. Can't seem to come up with any ideas on what to make next. I have named this one April, probably the last one I make for the season.

A follow up on our son-in-law Brian. He is now home from his third round of treatments. He has a week at home, then back for his fourth and last round. Each round seems to be harder on him so we pray he can get through this last one with at least the five he has been able to take. So...prayers are still needed.

Yesterday my daughter, Rhonda, and I went Easter shopping. We had a nice day at the mall, had a light lunch then shopped some more. I found some great things at my favorite store...Christopher & Banks. Of course two were in my favorite colors...black! Now I have to wonder, can you wear black for Easter!! I see it out there but for some reason always seems like a winter color. We will be in Montana for Easter so maybe black would be appropriate since they are having a winter snow storm tonight and more expected through the week! It was in the 80's here yesterday so hard to imagine!

Another Round!

This picture has been posted before, but it just seems so appropriate for what our son-in-law is going through. He is now on his third round of treatment for Kidney cancer. The "thumbs up" just seem to go along with his upbeat sense of humor and attitude. He is not feeling too well tonight, but has had his third treatment of the week so it all goes with the series of injections. He is so many different reactions after receiving the injection, but puts up a fight till he just can't take anymore. His treatments so far have proved to be on a very good plus side...so our prayers are he will be healed soon from this dreadful disease. Prayers still very much appreciated! (funny, in this picture he is sitting at my computer amongst my mess and doll bodies..but the pic is worth a thousand words)!

I was so excited to see my Redbud tree finally in bloom! We had a huge weeping birch tree in that location, which we planted when we built our home 34 years ago and I LOVED that tree!! I couldn't imagine my back yard without it...and all the shade it provided. I fought my hubby for several years as he wanted it removed due to rot in the center. It was a clump birch and it began rotting in the base. But, one day I was watching the granddaughters playing in the back yard and thought..wouldn't be awful if a big trunk suddenly just fell on one of them! So...after thinking it over I conceded. We immediately purchased this Redbud tree and now I really like it..and our yard seems to do so much better with more light. Not sure what that round circle is in my picture!! LOL...but my hubby sat the birdbath on the old stump...laughed at that but sort of neat!! Now I have to get out there and clean up all the old debris from last year and get started on planting for the summer.

I finally sold my last rabbit so thought...maybe I will try one more..so finished this one up today and got it listed tonight. I was pleasantly surprised when I looked a couple hours later and I had a bid already! I was sure no one would want her..she is quite prim! I do like the angel part of her though. I have lowered my prices alot lately but they seem to be slowly selling so something is better than nothing! I may do a couple more things and then need to get on my supply for the Christmas Goose, a huge two sale in the fall held here locally. I usually try to get around 300 items made so need to get on it early. Then, need to come up with something for my shop....haven't a clue what at this point!

Will return with the latest on Brian...hopefully he can tolerate a few more rounds before he comes home. He has a week off then back for his final series.

It's Spring!

Not a very big plant, but as you can see...spring has sprung and the flowers are starting to appear! My primroses and iris are blooming. My roses are full of buds and my tulips will soon be opening up! We planted around 50 bulbs this year and some will be in bloom soon! My weeping cherry (or whatever it is...my girls will know) is full of buds..as is my Redbud. Can't wait to take pics of them when they are open..oh yes the lilac will be open soon also. My one forsytha is also very pretty this year. Last year my dh decided to prune early...well you know what happened...no flowers!! I try to tell him some plants you don't prune before they bloom...but you know you can't tell a man a thing!! Oh well..there is always next year!! LOL

Yesterday I decided to re-do my rabbit a bit since it hasn't sold with two listings on ebay!! I decided to add some flowers and a basket..then made some clay eggs...so will see. I did sell another one today so things are moving...though slowly! And, of course not getting the $$ for the same things a year ago. Of course, with this lousy economy I just feel lucky to get bids or a sale on my shoppe. If Abigail doesn't find a new home this time..guess she will have to live here with all the other ones that haven't sold!! LOL

Tomorrow is my dental appointment in Roseville so will see if I can find some "fun" things to do afterwards. There is a craft place called the Wishing Well I may check out. Was thinking maybe they might have some of the tiny bears, etc for my santa bags. Will let you all know what or if I find something!

Great News!!

First of all....for any of you that have followed the story about Brian (our son in law) on Deb's blog (Dollgiver's Attic) and Linda's blog (Simpletresures) and his cancer journey...we received great news today!! He has been in an aggressive treatment for advanced Kidney Cancer. We found out today his tumors have shrunk by 50%...so its working! He will go back for another round of treatments in a week or so, but now we all know it is working and from now on have a very positive outlook for him. The prayers have worked...so all of you please keep praying!

This picture is of Brian and Rhonda in December, when we had a great family reunion. All of our kids came from Oregon and Indiana, then we went to a neat little town and spent a couple days together...had a great time!

Amongst all the excitement from the great news....I did manage to get a couple things listed on ebay!! YEAH! Now for the sales..??? This bunny is one of the ones I listed...he is small and love the way he turned. Now....like everyone else...have to wait for the bids! This has been a hard time for sales...not many people bidding and Easter will be here in a few weeks. I am sure everyone is feeling the financial pinch and many looking but not many buying. Regardless, have to keep plugging along and see how it all plays out.

As far as Easter being on the way....not hard to believe by the weather we are having. It has been in the 70's so far this week and many of our fruit trees, plants etc are blooming. The birds are also quite busy! I have two bird feeders and have to fill them every other day..fun to watch! I will try to get a few pictures for my next visit...to show some of the plants in bloom.

Time Flies!!

First off...wishing my son James a Happy Birthday today! Like I said, how time flies! It seems it wasn't that long ago when he was small...now he is living in Indiana and only get to see him and his family once or twice a year. Thank goodness for the internet though as we do keep in much closer contact through e-mails and the messenger! Would hate to think of life without it!!

The last time I posted we, or maybe I should say I, was wondering how we were going to get my new fridge into the house.....and hoping it would fit in the opening. Well...if fit! I LOVE it! It is so much nicer than that old almond colored one we had and also love the french doors, bottom freezer and water and ice dispenser!

I have been busy (to some degree) on a few sewing projects. I didn't sell this rabbit with the carrots so.....added a youngin to her and named him Briar and listed today on ebay. I do like them in person but just seems like sales are so bad right now. I went down in my prices to see if that makes a difference, but who knows! I am sure I am not alone in this department.

We have had tons of rain the last couple weeks. Just got a call from Will that there is a warning of hail and thunder and lightning in the county north of us so am watching the sky to see if it gets dark here. If so...this computer is going off!! Don't want to take a chance in messing it up due to a power outage. Yesterday I got up to a hail storm and loud crack and the power went off for around an hour. We need the rain though since California is in a drought so they say. The water levels have gone up in reservors though, and if storms keep coming our way, maybe we can make up. So...on that note, I think I will end this and keep an eye out for changing conditions!!

Busy Day!

I finally managed to get a couple more things listed on ebay today! The one I had listed previously but she didn't sell, so decided to take some other pics and relist. By the way, I too had a notice from ebay that they had looked at my listing and warned me about accepting payment other than paypal...so had to make sure all the other info was taken out. At least they didn't pull mine like they did Linda's, but they are watching! Sort of makes a person upset to think you can't list your items with the kind of payment you want to accept, but guess they have their reasons. Guess if things don't seem to be moving on ebay, its time to start my Christmas items for the Christmas Goose. I always say I am not going to do it, then when the time gets closer I end up doing it! It is a two day show and alot of hard work but once it is over and you look back, it doesn't seem so bad.

Tonight I had dinner for Rhonda, Brian and their two daughters Ashlyn and Alexis. Funny, Lexi said she loves what grandma makes and couldn't wait to get here! Guess they were waiting outside for their mom to come home so they could come over! (of course they love the Siamese that lives here so always run out to get her)! Brian (our son in law) has cancer and has been in treatment. A friend made up this great book with all the cards and well wishes inside...done up in a scrapbook and was great go through. Alot of comments from the heart.

We purchased a new refrigerator but seems it won't go through the sliding door without taking a panel out so guess that will have to wait till Saturday when hubby is home. The guys were going to do it tonight after dinner but decided to put it on hold. Hopefully it will fit when we finally do get it in here!! We had our kitchen remodeled about 9 years ago and didn't take into account someday I might want a side by side! So had to get one to fit the space which wasn't easy! Will post how it all works out after it is in place (hopefully that is)!!

I have managed to do a little sewing lately. I don't know what the problem is, other than things just seem to be so slow on the shops and ebay that a person just doesn't feel like making things that will just sit and look back at you! But...on that note...I have managed to make a few things and today I got my rabbit listed on ebay! YEAH!!

I have named her Abigail...and of course made from my favorite pattern maker...Veena's Mercantile! I am drawn to her patterns for some reason. I think one thing I like is, the item is small and on the prim side that I love. I do love the way she turned out.

Haven't posted since Valentine's day, which was nice but nothing eventful. Hubby and I went to Chico to do some refrigerator shopping..a few groceries then out to a wonderful restaurant for dinner. We did finally decide on a refrigerator we liked so on Monday we ordered it and will have it next week! Mine is sooooo ugleeeee!! I have wanted a new one for a long time, and now with my new countertops decided it is time. This one has the french doors on top with the ice/water in the door and the pull out freezer in the bottom. Then, hubby surprised me by setting a date for a lady to come out and measure my diningroom sliding door for wood verticals...that will be so nice. So, guess as you can see I can't complain! No jewelry but these things are better since I have tons of jewelry.

Tonight we have a concert to go to so that will be nice. Our weather has cleared up so won't have to walk in the rain! We have had a week of solid rain (which we desperately needed) but do hate when we go out and get drenched. Hopefully it is a good concert and a great evening. Other than that...nothing much going on here. Just hope to get my rear in gear and start some Christmas for the Goose and another bunny or two in the works.

How time flies!!

Gosh...didn't realize it has been so long since I updated my blog! But of course, my daughter Deb reminded me I was far behind!

Last time I wrote we were working on our kitchen...that is all done now and so nice. Love the countertops! They are darker that the previous and make the wood look so much richer. Now need a new fridge! Ours is that almond color and just YUCK! So...maybe that should be on my Valentine list!! LOL I told my hubby I don't need jewelry (unless of course he just insists!!) and don't need candy..don't need clothes..nor plants so what will I ask for?? Perhaps he can surprise me!! Strange, but one thing I do want is one of those metal birdfeeders...the kind that have the various little things for the birds to sit on and eat. Just took a pic of the one I have along with one bird feasting!! I can't keep it filled...they sure love it!

While outside taking pics I noticed my iris are already in bloom! Of course here in California we have had mild weather so everything is just ready to burst open in bloom. I noticed the almond trees are blooming already..next will be the peaches and then the prunes.

We had a great time last week. The big fundraiser for our son-in-law Brian and daugther Rhonda and girls was held. It was a great success. Then, to make it and extra special time for us, our daughter and her boys came out from Indiana, as well as daughter Deb and family came from Oregon. We not only all were at the fundraiser, but the next day celebrated Deb & Rhonda's birthdays! The visits were short but so nice to have them here!

I did manage to get a couple things made up for my WSOAPP shoppe. Seems early for Easter but guess that is coming before we know it!

One other thing...sort of have a bad feeling about the strange cats showing up in our yard. Seems the female Siamese that belongs to the neighbor but lives at our house most of the time is having some regular visitors...hmmmmmm!! Now you know what I am thinking! I always said I didn't want any animals...took this one under my wing and loved and fed it and now will probably have alot more to take care of!!! Hope not!! Plus...the "visitors" are not even pretty! Figures!! Will keep you all posted.....till next time!

Progress!!

Today was installation day for my new countertops! Guess I should have taken pics of my old ones....they were Swanstone and more of an oatmeal color. We had them about 10 years but have always been disappointed with them due to seams showing, etc. So...when hubby went back to work I said....I want new counterops! This is a solid surface LG product in blacks/dark gray with beige and white flecks. The sink is an off white molded in. Not sure they will be as durable as the old as far as heat resistant but for the looks...much happier! I will just have to get used to using a cutting board more often...and also for putting hot things on. Now the big job of cleaning out the drawers and putting everything back!

Did manage to get my Bennie bear on my shoppe this week. Just slow in creating right now with all that is going on in our lives. If any of you have followed Dollgiver's Attic and Linda "Simple Tresures" you have heard them mention prayers for Brian. He is our son-in-law and has been in treatment in San Francisco for kidney cancer that has spread into his lungs. He is only 41 and has 2 young daughters. He has just underwent his second round of treatments so are hoping and praying for a positive result when he is retested.

Above is a picture of Brian and his youngest daughter, Ashlyn. I took my tree down yesterday. I really dread that job...but now it is done..but still have other decorations up and my small tree in the diningroom up. I usually like to keep it up until the end of January, but we have company coming the end of the month and then getting new countertops installed so guess I had better think of getting it all put away before then. Our son-in-law began his cancer treatments today so kind of a hard time for me right now...but figure it is better to stay busy than just sit and think about it all.

I did manage to get a couple things listed tonight in my shoppe. Didn't get the best of pictures as it was late when I finished up but will have to do for now. I didn't have time to do anything other than some simple things..but then Valentine's day comes so soon after Christmas so doesn't leave a person much time. Until next time...prim blessings!

New Years Eve...quiet evening!

Since hubby is working late....thought I would update with a few pictures. This is a pic of my country tree in the diningroom. Still have both trees up and probably won't take them down until next week. I love each and every ornament on my tree so just picked a few. Sort of messing around with my camera on a diffeerent setting too! I have had it for several years but just found my book (lol) in my craft room! Now if you ask my daughter Deb she could tell you why I could never find it!! LOL I am going to try to organize this mess soon here!! I guess when it starts to bother me...it is bad!!!

I have probably over 600 glass ornaments on my tree so could be here all night taking pictures...and there are always favorites...that is why I hate to take my tree down!

This is a picture of the egg (Rhea) I think it is, hand carved and painted by a friend of mine in the Christmas Goose. This is a large two day show we have in the fall, which I am a part of. I always say I am not going to do it the next year but after the show the next year doesn't look so bad! I am sure many of you can relate! Last year my husband bought me a beautiful santa in a sleigh..so this is the second to my collection.
Well, it is almost 8:00 p.m. and still alone so may as well go eat my dinner alone! DH is working in Sacramento (about 60 mi drive one way) and he called that he has to work late so may be saying Happy New Year to myself! Oh well..just another year, right! Hope you all have a wonderful 2009!! Till next time!

Running out of Time!!!

Not much time left and so much to do! I just put this little set of ornies on my shop tonight. I had started them while visiting my daughter in Oregon...brought them home and they have been laying here...so finished them up. A bit late but but thought..what the heck! I sold my last santa on ebay today so am happy about that! Now it is just wrapping the pile of gifts I have in my bedroom! I HATE that job and always think...where are my girls when I need them! But....I look around all I see is me....so you know what that means! At least I got out my Christmas cards today. That is always a last minute thing for me too.

Tomorrow hubby and I will do some fun shopping along with some things he needs to do. I want him to take me to the Antique Trove..it is huge and love going there. I am hoping to find some small things for my santa's bags next year. If I come across a great find I will let you know!

Well....it is near midnight and I am tired....so I think it is off to bed for me until next time!

Almost finished for the year!

Finally finished up my last santa for the year! I had found this wonderful old wool blanket while in Oregon a few weeks ago...so just had to make a santa out of him this year. I love this time of year....and making the Christmas dolls. The problem is, I am in a large craft show so spend most of my time sewing for that...which leaves little time for ebay etc. My promise to myself every year is...start making Christmas right after the New Year! Well...we all know that doesn't happen! I do want a few days to finish up the last minute things...wrapping presents and finishing up my cards so have to put sewing aside.

This jolly old santa adorns our neighbors front yard and has for years....sort of a tradition. Last year we had a nasty storm and when he didn't appear this year I thought...oh no guess he won't go up this year! But....to my joy he did appear on Sunday when we returned home from church. Not sure of the exact story about him but think he was from an old filling station probably in the 40's or 50's! I just love him and thought I had better get a picture of him this year as surely one day he will not appear!

Hope you are all having a blessed Christmas season...till next time!

Finally another Santa listed!

On the upside of my life right now....I have another santa listed today! He was partially finished when all my kids arrived, and needless to say he didn't get finished up until today. I hope to get a couple more items done before the final countdown..but who knows!!

If any of you have read my daughter's blog (Dollgiver's Attic) she has her share of problems and worries. We are all very concerned about her daughter, Laresa. Much too young to be having the heart problems she is experiencing. Along with that and our son-in-law's cancer, we are overwhelmed with anxiety this Christmas. Please keep both of them in your prayers...our family would so much appreciate it. Until next time..hope you are having a wonderful Christmas Season!

Where do I begin!!

What a past week it has been!!! On Thursday my daughter JoAnn arrived from Indiana. She rented a car so visited with me a short time then went over to my daughters home in town. She would spend the night there, then on Friday my daughter Deb arrived from Oregon. They had come to surprise their dad for his birthday. Anyway, come Friday evening the three daughters and myself were planning his arrival home from work when I hear a knock on the door! I remember thinking, who in the heck can that be!! I didn't see the Jeep in the driveway so thought it was a neighbor or a salesman. I open the door and there stands my son (from Indiana) saying "Hi Mom"!!! Now I am the one surprised!!! I can't believe my eyes!! Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to see him! You can see my surprised look! Anyway, then their dad arrives home and sets down his ice chest...goes in and takes off his shoes when I tell him he needs to come into the kitchen to see what happened and that I hoped he wouldn't be upset with me when he saw what happened! So...he goes in and the look was priceless!!! Needless to say it was a big shock but a good one! After our son-in-law Brian was the next surprised victim, we were all to the local mexican restaurant to eat and share our time together!

The next morning we were off to the quaint little towns of Grass Valley and Nevada City for shopping and fun. We stayed at a wonderful Holiday Inn Express...had three rooms so accomodated all of us quite well. That night we had a great dinner at the Kane, then on to a play "Santaland Diaries". After we had returned to the motel the girls, James and I sat in one room and laughed and reminsed! The next morning we had a great continental breakfast at the motel then shopped a little more then returned home. Sadly James had to return early Monday morning and shortly after Deb began her journey home also. She drove so was a 8 hr drive for her. JoAnn stayed until today so had a little more time with her. All in all, we had a wonderful time with all four of our kids at home together. Also, I know you have read Deb's post about our son-in-law having cancer, so that was also a time to be together as a family. James's wife Linda stayed home with the kids but also posted about Brian on her blog (Simple Tresures) Please keep him in your prayers as he is testing and will hopefully begin an extensive clinical trial treatment. What a blessing it was to have all four children home at the same time...something we once took for granted! Now on to my sewing...addressing cards...and the list goes on!!!

Work in Progress!

Wow....time is flying so thought I had better get busy with my Christmas decorating!! I finally got my tree up, and today decided to get busy on the rest of my decorating. One is my collection of 50's santas, etc. Some from my mom and some from antique stores, etc. The two houses are sitting on an old chest in my entryway. This chest one of my great grandparents brought over on a boat from Germany...filled with their few precious belongings they brought with them. Today I fill it with all my precious ornmanets...many made in Germany. I LOVE Christmas and have been collecting for about 35 years. I have continued this tradition by giving each of my kids ornaments each year and they have also continued to do this for their children! I will take more pictures after I get my second "country" tree up and decorated...then maybe a couple more here and there. Until next time....happy decorating!!! Oh yes..and still have to try to get a santa finished up here..something on our site and an ornie made for our swap!! gotta get busy!!!

Happy Dec. 1st!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fThsXLuogUs/STRs84uewwI/AAAAAAAAAEs/pj6wKy3weW8/s320/St+Nicholus+006.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5274960856832983810" />

Greetings and Happy Dec 1st! I can't believe it is already December and I am just now getting around to my first listing for Christmas! Looks like I won't be getting many things made this year! I did have a big show in November and did pretty well there, so that is where most of my time went. Anyway, I have added a pic of the santa just listed today. Have another body here so may have one to join him soon...hoping that is!! I am working on my tree, etc so when I have it completed I will take a few pics to share. I took the shot through the sliding glass door since I was in a hurry...cute!

My day started off with me going to grandparents day with my granddaughter, which was fun to do. I had to take an order for a set of pilgrims to a shop in a local town so as soon as I left the school I headed home. On the way home there was an accident so was directed around it, then on the way to town another bunch of flashing lights...a house on fire! Once again, had to be directed around the fire trucks on the highway! I delivered my items, did a little shopping then decided to call my dh to see if he wanted to meet me at Sam to put gas in the Acura (since I NEVER put gas in my vehicle) which he said he would...then of course he asked where I wanted to eat!! That was fine...then he asks if we should switch vehicles as I had another stop to make...so I get in the Jeep and take off. I hear someone honking but didn't see anything so made my way out of the parking lot and soon after see a cop behind me. I stop at the stop light...turn onto the highway and he goes right behind me. I turn onto another highway and he does too! Now I figure I am not doing anything wrong so not to worry! Soon his lights come on and I pull over. He says....you have no brake lights at all...so gives me a fix it ticket..which isn't so bad but then dh calls me while the guy is checking my drivers license, etc giving me heck because I didn't stop when he honked at me in the parking light!! The cop says I can go on my way as long as I use my flashing lights or whatever the heck they are, and didn't even know where to find the thing to turn it on! I tell my dh that I am just pulling into the nearby parking lot and he can come and meet me! So...off to the parts place we go to buy new bulbs...and finally I arrive home at 8:30 tonight! I told him he is lucky I was driving it or he would have gotten the ticket either tonight or in the morning when he took off for work! So....turned into an eventful day! Till next time!!

Making herself at Home!!

Just looked out in back and here she is making herself at home for the day!!

She Returned for a visit!

Isn't this the prettiest siamese? There are two of them but only one returned today. A few months ago two of the cutest siamese kittens appeared and lived in our backyard for about 6 weeks. Then, our neighbor came over with her little girl and asked if we had seen a couple siamese...well had to give them back! Didn't really know where they belonged so fed them and the granddaughters named them...but had to give them up. Periodically they do return though and this morning I went out to sun dry my pilgrims and low and behold....she came running out of the flowers!! I tried to get a better pic but she kept wanting me to pet her so this is the best I could come up with! She is so lovable....and pretty!! If she stays a bit longer maybe I can get a better shot....maybe her sister will appear too!!

What a Day It Was!!!

Well...I am home now but so tired today! Yesterday began with me getting up early at 5:30 a.m. to get to the airport by 7:15...then to fly out at 8:00...(so I thought)! It was foggy on the way to the airport and Deb and I discussed that it was foggy but usually the flights were not cancelled. Well...got all checked in, went through security then waited and waited....no plane! Kept getting announcements that they were flying above waiting to land. Finally they announced that the plane went back to Medford to refuel. So...then it was announced the flight was cancelled. I go upstairs and TRY to get rescheduled. My...that took 45 minutes to finally rebook for a later flight. FINALLY the fog cleared and I was on the plane at 11:30 a.m. on my way to San Francisco. After arriving there I had a 4 hour wait! I was carrying a bag I borrowed from Deb loaded with an wonderful red wool blanket I found in a thrift store along with pieces of fabric I found at JoAnns...so couldn't even wander in the shops or find anything to eat as I would have to walk too far! That is when you miss your hubby to carry the extra loads! LOL So, I proceed to a little magazine shop and bought a small bag of nuts and sunflower seeds for a whopping $4.50 then drug my bag and butt over to a corner seat thinking maybe I could just sit there alone and watch people and eat my nuts since I hadn't eaten a thing that day...well..guess what...I sit right next to the plug in for people to plug in their computers..so I had a man sit right next to me and run his cord under my seat so...so much for sitting alone! He was nice though. He said he was missing his daughter's 16th birthday and that he lived in Mt Shasta and was flying to Medford....etc. He even had me watch his laptop and bags while he went to the bathroom...(so much for that airline security where you don't leave your bags with anyone you don't know)!! LOL Finally made my 45 min connection to Chico. Hubby picked me up...we went to eat....made a quick stop to see the granddaughters and daughter..then home by 8:30 p.m.! What would have been a 7-8 hr drive was a long 10 hour day at airports! Had a great visit with Deb though so all in all was worth it!

Today we went to church, ATE!! of course, went to Costco and home by 3:30...so you can see I got nothing done today either! Have to get busy and make a set of simple pilgrims tomorrow then hopefully start a santa or two for ebay.

Life can truly get very interesting...taking the most unexpected turns! But all in all, things do work out in the end....blessings till next time!

Deb's baby

Hello again!
Thought you all might like to take a peek at one of Deb's babies! She is a constant companion in her craft room and loves to say across the back of her neck while she sews....can't even imagine that!
