Great News!!

First of all....for any of you that have followed the story about Brian (our son in law) on Deb's blog (Dollgiver's Attic) and Linda's blog (Simpletresures) and his cancer journey...we received great news today!! He has been in an aggressive treatment for advanced Kidney Cancer. We found out today his tumors have shrunk by 50%...so its working! He will go back for another round of treatments in a week or so, but now we all know it is working and from now on have a very positive outlook for him. The prayers have worked...so all of you please keep praying!

This picture is of Brian and Rhonda in December, when we had a great family reunion. All of our kids came from Oregon and Indiana, then we went to a neat little town and spent a couple days together...had a great time!

Amongst all the excitement from the great news....I did manage to get a couple things listed on ebay!! YEAH! Now for the sales..??? This bunny is one of the ones I listed...he is small and love the way he turned. Now....like everyone else...have to wait for the bids! This has been a hard time for sales...not many people bidding and Easter will be here in a few weeks. I am sure everyone is feeling the financial pinch and many looking but not many buying. Regardless, have to keep plugging along and see how it all plays out.
As far as Easter being on the way....not hard to believe by the weather we are having. It has been in the 70's so far this week and many of our fruit trees, plants etc are blooming. The birds are also quite busy! I have two bird feeders and have to fill them every other day..fun to watch! I will try to get a few pictures for my next visit...to show some of the plants in bloom.

Time Flies!!

First off...wishing my son James a Happy Birthday today! Like I said, how time flies! It seems it wasn't that long ago when he was small...now he is living in Indiana and only get to see him and his family once or twice a year. Thank goodness for the internet though as we do keep in much closer contact through e-mails and the messenger! Would hate to think of life without it!!

The last time I posted we, or maybe I should say I, was wondering how we were going to get my new fridge into the house.....and hoping it would fit in the opening. Well...if fit! I LOVE it! It is so much nicer than that old almond colored one we had and also love the french doors, bottom freezer and water and ice dispenser!

I have been busy (to some degree) on a few sewing projects. I didn't sell this rabbit with the carrots so.....added a youngin to her and named him Briar and listed today on ebay. I do like them in person but just seems like sales are so bad right now. I went down in my prices to see if that makes a difference, but who knows! I am sure I am not alone in this department.
We have had tons of rain the last couple weeks. Just got a call from Will that there is a warning of hail and thunder and lightning in the county north of us so am watching the sky to see if it gets dark here. If so...this computer is going off!! Don't want to take a chance in messing it up due to a power outage. Yesterday I got up to a hail storm and loud crack and the power went off for around an hour. We need the rain though since California is in a drought so they say. The water levels have gone up in reservors though, and if storms keep coming our way, maybe we can make up. So...on that note, I think I will end this and keep an eye out for changing conditions!!

Busy Day!

I finally managed to get a couple more things listed on ebay today! The one I had listed previously but she didn't sell, so decided to take some other pics and relist. By the way, I too had a notice from ebay that they had looked at my listing and warned me about accepting payment other than paypal...so had to make sure all the other info was taken out. At least they didn't pull mine like they did Linda's, but they are watching! Sort of makes a person upset to think you can't list your items with the kind of payment you want to accept, but guess they have their reasons. Guess if things don't seem to be moving on ebay, its time to start my Christmas items for the Christmas Goose. I always say I am not going to do it, then when the time gets closer I end up doing it! It is a two day show and alot of hard work but once it is over and you look back, it doesn't seem so bad.

Tonight I had dinner for Rhonda, Brian and their two daughters Ashlyn and Alexis. Funny, Lexi said she loves what grandma makes and couldn't wait to get here! Guess they were waiting outside for their mom to come home so they could come over! (of course they love the Siamese that lives here so always run out to get her)! Brian (our son in law) has cancer and has been in treatment. A friend made up this great book with all the cards and well wishes inside...done up in a scrapbook and was great go through. Alot of comments from the heart.

We purchased a new refrigerator but seems it won't go through the sliding door without taking a panel out so guess that will have to wait till Saturday when hubby is home. The guys were going to do it tonight after dinner but decided to put it on hold. Hopefully it will fit when we finally do get it in here!! We had our kitchen remodeled about 9 years ago and didn't take into account someday I might want a side by side! So had to get one to fit the space which wasn't easy! Will post how it all works out after it is in place (hopefully that is)!!

I have managed to do a little sewing lately. I don't know what the problem is, other than things just seem to be so slow on the shops and ebay that a person just doesn't feel like making things that will just sit and look back at you! But...on that note...I have managed to make a few things and today I got my rabbit listed on ebay! YEAH!!

I have named her Abigail...and of course made from my favorite pattern maker...Veena's Mercantile! I am drawn to her patterns for some reason. I think one thing I like is, the item is small and on the prim side that I love. I do love the way she turned out.

Haven't posted since Valentine's day, which was nice but nothing eventful. Hubby and I went to Chico to do some refrigerator shopping..a few groceries then out to a wonderful restaurant for dinner. We did finally decide on a refrigerator we liked so on Monday we ordered it and will have it next week! Mine is sooooo ugleeeee!! I have wanted a new one for a long time, and now with my new countertops decided it is time. This one has the french doors on top with the ice/water in the door and the pull out freezer in the bottom. Then, hubby surprised me by setting a date for a lady to come out and measure my diningroom sliding door for wood verticals...that will be so nice. So, guess as you can see I can't complain! No jewelry but these things are better since I have tons of jewelry.

Tonight we have a concert to go to so that will be nice. Our weather has cleared up so won't have to walk in the rain! We have had a week of solid rain (which we desperately needed) but do hate when we go out and get drenched. Hopefully it is a good concert and a great evening. Other than that...nothing much going on here. Just hope to get my rear in gear and start some Christmas for the Goose and another bunny or two in the works.

How time flies!!

Gosh...didn't realize it has been so long since I updated my blog! But of course, my daughter Deb reminded me I was far behind!

Last time I wrote we were working on our kitchen...that is all done now and so nice. Love the countertops! They are darker that the previous and make the wood look so much richer. Now need a new fridge! Ours is that almond color and just YUCK! So...maybe that should be on my Valentine list!! LOL I told my hubby I don't need jewelry (unless of course he just insists!!) and don't need candy..don't need clothes..nor plants so what will I ask for?? Perhaps he can surprise me!! Strange, but one thing I do want is one of those metal birdfeeders...the kind that have the various little things for the birds to sit on and eat. Just took a pic of the one I have along with one bird feasting!! I can't keep it filled...they sure love it!

While outside taking pics I noticed my iris are already in bloom! Of course here in California we have had mild weather so everything is just ready to burst open in bloom. I noticed the almond trees are blooming already..next will be the peaches and then the prunes.

We had a great time last week. The big fundraiser for our son-in-law Brian and daugther Rhonda and girls was held. It was a great success. Then, to make it and extra special time for us, our daughter and her boys came out from Indiana, as well as daughter Deb and family came from Oregon. We not only all were at the fundraiser, but the next day celebrated Deb & Rhonda's birthdays! The visits were short but so nice to have them here!

I did manage to get a couple things made up for my WSOAPP shoppe. Seems early for Easter but guess that is coming before we know it!
One other thing...sort of have a bad feeling about the strange cats showing up in our yard. Seems the female Siamese that belongs to the neighbor but lives at our house most of the time is having some regular visitors...hmmmmmm!! Now you know what I am thinking! I always said I didn't want any animals...took this one under my wing and loved and fed it and now will probably have alot more to take care of!!! Hope not!! Plus...the "visitors" are not even pretty! Figures!! Will keep you all posted.....till next time!

Progress!!

Today was installation day for my new countertops! Guess I should have taken pics of my old ones....they were Swanstone and more of an oatmeal color. We had them about 10 years but have always been disappointed with them due to seams showing, etc. So...when hubby went back to work I said....I want new counterops! This is a solid surface LG product in blacks/dark gray with beige and white flecks. The sink is an off white molded in. Not sure they will be as durable as the old as far as heat resistant but for the looks...much happier! I will just have to get used to using a cutting board more often...and also for putting hot things on. Now the big job of cleaning out the drawers and putting everything back!

Did manage to get my Bennie bear on my shoppe this week. Just slow in creating right now with all that is going on in our lives. If any of you have followed Dollgiver's Attic and Linda "Simple Tresures" you have heard them mention prayers for Brian. He is our son-in-law and has been in treatment in San Francisco for kidney cancer that has spread into his lungs. He is only 41 and has 2 young daughters. He has just underwent his second round of treatments so are hoping and praying for a positive result when he is retested.

Above is a picture of Brian and his youngest daughter, Ashlyn. To anyone who may read this...please keep Brian in your prayers for a full recovery. Thanks so much...till next time!

Trying to get busy again!!

I am slowly trying to get back into things again. I took my tree down yesterday. I really dread that job...but now it is done..but still have other decorations up and my small tree in the diningroom up. I usually like to keep it up until the end of January, but we have company coming the end of the month and then getting new countertops installed so guess I had better think of getting it all put away before then. Our son-in-law began his cancer treatments today so kind of a hard time for me right now...but figure it is better to stay busy than just sit and think about it all.

I did manage to get a couple things listed tonight in my shoppe. Didn't get the best of pictures as it was late when I finished up but will have to do for now. I didn't have time to do anything other than some simple things..but then Valentine's day comes so soon after Christmas so doesn't leave a person much time. Until next time...prim blessings!
